School library media candidates model and promote collaborative planning with classroom teachers in order to teach concepts and skills of information processes integrated with classroom content. They partner with other education professionals to develop and deliver an integrated information skills curriculum. - teaching an interactive lesson to 5th grade on historical fiction vs. nonfiction
- introducing a new database to high school health classes
- providing an introduction to 6th grade students on appropriate resources for research project
- working with 8th grade English classes on research project. Topics covered included: narrowing topic; keyword searching; why not Google?; using online encyclopedias; how to cite sources; and notetaking.
- teaching 9th grade English classes the various biographical resources in the library, including print, database, and vertical file.
- working with a multi-grade MS special education class each week. Lessons included a map lesson and curriculum related read-aloud.
